NON-EXCAVATED PEWTER CSA BELT PLATE

PRICE   $  POR

DESCRIPTION

A super rare, non-excavated pewter CSA belt plate. Manufactured by Noble Brothers Foundry in Rome Georgia and issued exclusively in the Western Theater mostly to Georgia troops. The soldier that wore this plate scratched his name, R. O. Marshall, on both sides of the buckle.  Excellent natural patina. All three hooks intact. Crisp letters and periods. About as good as can be found. From the estate of Steve Mullinax.

This buckle is similar to Plate 113 in "CONFEDERATE BELT BUCKLES & PLATES, Expanded Edition" by  Mullinax.
